Something Old, Something New

Hey guys!

I've moved from taintednuke.wordpress, to here! I haven't deleted it or anything (sentimental or hoarder, you decide), I just left it there with all my old posts. I decided to move here simply because I like the layout of this site, and how it's organised. Ive been looking for things to keep me going, keep me inspired and this just feels right. I don't hate Wordpress or anything, but I just feel like I'll be more productive here (I hope). Moving onnnnnn~

For new readers, here's a little introduction this blog:

I write about Cruelty Free beauty and Travel, mostly. Other contents are still in the works, so I will be branching out to other things as well.

For now, my focus is on introducing Cruelty Free (CF) make up, skincare, brands, reviews, recommendations, where to get them, favourites etc, &&& my travels! This includes itineraries, food, places to stay, travelling on a budget, tips/recommendations, and getting around. (The first full itinerary is still in the works, so stay tuned!)

Why CF?

I have been using CF brands for almost 4 years already, and the reason was - curiousity! The years before I made the switch, I've always known of only one brand that tested on animals. I never really gave it much thought and went on to buy whatever makeup I want. I would say it was curiousity (and boredom tbh), and falling down the rabbit hole that is Youtube, that inspired me.

It was after midnight, and I was watching Youtube videos because I couldn't sleep. I had finished watching all the latest vlogs/skits from my favvvv Youtubers, and then there was nothing else to watch. So I decided to click on some random make up tutorials to feed my boredom. Do note that I tend to side-track a lot, and I guess it worked out well this time because I started thinking "Does this brand test on animals too?". The Curious George part of me felt the need to find an answer to this question that began to bug me, as soon as I thought of said question. So I turned to Google for answers. *types in 'make up brands that test on animals'* *immediate mind blown*

There were so many! I couldn't believe it! I looked at my makeup tray and ALL, but 2 brands, tested on animals. The more I read, the more I felt like a horrible human being. I looked at my dog with my heart filled with apologies. That was the point. It really made me think how companies would do sooo much to sell a product just to make us look and feel beautiful, but at whose cost? The animals!

Since then, I've gone cruelty free, and I am loving it! Knowing no animals were harmed for my beauty really makes one feel good on the inside, not just the outside. With that, I kept doing more research because there are some brands that do not test, but their partner brands do. Also, there are countries that require animal testing (China), brands that do not test but ingredients include animal by-products(for Vegans), and sustainable packaging (for the eco conscious).

Heres my tip for those of you who wants to make the switch:

Educate yourself first, and do your research.
Shop consciously.
Google is your best friend.
Don't buy on impulse.

Remember, you vote with your dollars.

Why Travel?

It is as simple as, passion. I love visiting new places, learning about different cultures, and trying new food! I also love meeting new people. Each time I travel, I spend months researching, finding the best places to stay (location location location!), and creating an itinerary - istg it is the only time I don't procrastinate or side track!

The one thing I love to do, is finding places and ways to travel, on a budget, and why not share it with you guys! With that, I also enjoying vlogging when I travel. It makes it easier to explain and show you guys where the places are, and to make you guys feel like you're there with me. You can see my silly antics, awkward explanations, and struggles too.

So, yeah. I hope this is a good enough introduction to what I do/write.
